On February 4th and February 7th, Paws 4 a Cause experienced a little excitement. Ian Somerhalder not only RTed some of our tweets, but he has thanks us for everything that we are doing. Here are screenshots of the tweets (and tweets he responded to immediately after his tweets to us directly).
It was a very exciting few days, to say the least.
Thank you, Ian, for your on-going support. The fact that you showed that you know what we are up to and support it means the world to myself, my team and especially your fans.
By thanking Paws 4 a Cause, Ian in fact reached out to everyone who has supported us thus far. He sends his thanks and appreciation to everyone who is helping us make a difference in the world for the animals. And I join him in saying “THANK YOU!” We really can’t do this without all of you!

I am beyond pleased and excited about this special announcment. I have recently been in touch with L.J. Smith, the creator of The Vampire Diaries series and she is more than willing to help us with our cause.
As it turns out, Lisa has a soft spot for our furry friends. She told me about her dream home and her plans to adopt as many animals as she can so that they don’t have to live in an animal shelter or be put at risk to be euthanised.
This lady has a HUGE heart and I’m so thrilled to have her as a supporter. She has agreed to do a post on her site about our cause (which is done, you can view it here) as well as send to me some autographed and rare items for us to auction on ebay.
Here is an excerpt from her blog post:
I came across a wonderful new project last week. Anybody who knows me knows my love for animals, and I got an email from Natalie Gould, who runs a fansite for the Vampire Diaries TV series (http://the-vampirediaries.com). To quote her, “Back in September 2010, I began a birthday project for Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore on the show), to raise funds for a no-kill animal shelter located in Ian’s hometown of Covington, Louisiana.”
Well, how could I resist? I love animals, and I love Damon, and I love Ian Somerhalder’s performance of Damon (yes, even before I read an article and heard of another in which he said that he and Paul Wesley had read some of The Vampire Diaries books to get in character).
As soon as I get the first delivery of items from her, I will begin our new set of ebay auctions.
Special thank you to Lisa for being so kind, generous and willing to help us.
And to the rest of you, please stand by for further announcements in regards to the ebay auctions!

"Through The Eyes of a Child" - A child connects and plays with a stray dog that her family discovered recently. They are currently caring for this loveable pit bull, who has nothing but love to share and give, until space can be made available at St Tammany Humane Society.
This is one of the reasons why public donations are so very important. Because this dog is a Pit Bull, if she were brought to any other shelter, she would likely be euthanised because of her breed. At St Tammany Humane Society, she would actually stand a chance to find a forever home.
